With over 20 years of experience as a corporate and public health professional, Trish advocates for children’s health, well-being, and equitable development, empowering children through culturally relevant programs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Virginia, an MBA from the College of William and Mary, and a Master of Public Health from Emory University. Trish’s leadership is driven by her mission to equip children from underserved communities with essential swimming skills and water safety confidence.
Denise is a dedicated community advocate, scientist, and strategist with a professional background in forensic toxicology and event coordination. She leverages her expertise to improve outcomes in underserved communities through data, education, and public service. As a SwemKids International Board member, Denise focuses on driving partnerships, expanding program visibility, and supporting the organization’s mission to prevent childhood drowning through culturally relevant swim education. A graduate of Georgia Southern University, she is committed to creating equitable access to life-saving water safety skills, particularly in communities of color.
Dr. Lonita Broome is a seasoned financial professional with over 25 years of experience in leadership and finance. She currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of City Schools of Decatur, overseeing a budget in excess of $125 million, and has previously held leadership roles with Clayton County Schools and the Atlanta Police Department. Dr. Broome is also the founder and CEO of Financials Unlimited, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in financial management for small businesses. She earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Business Management from the University of West Georgia and Troy State University, respectively, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Research, Assessment, and Evaluation from Walden University. Dr. Broome’s extensive financial expertise is crucial to SwemSchool’s strategic growth and fiscal integrity.
Tyanna, a Chicago native residing in Atlanta, Georgia, is a passionate advocate for youth development with over a decade of experience empowering young people. As the Vice President of Club Services for Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, Tyanna is instrumental in shaping programs and services that foster the potential of thousands of children and teenagers. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Indiana State University. Tyanna’s commitment to service extends beyond her professional role as a proud Life Member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated. She is driven by a deep desire to expose young individuals to a world of possibilities and help them discover and cultivate their talents.
Shenna M. Jones, originally from Rochester, New York, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Savannah State University. She is currently a Marketing Coordinator for Amerigroup Community Care, where she manages community events, branding, media relations, and sponsorship. An entrepreneur, Shenna is also the owner of She Lashed Up LLC and Jones & Co Events. She holds a Lean Six Sigma Certification and is a proud member of the Zeta Alpha Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, where she serves as the Fundraising Chair. Shenna’s expertise in marketing and community engagement is invaluable to SwemSchool’s outreach efforts.
Adam Mania is a former NCAA All-American and Polish Olympic Swimmer based in Atlanta. He brings 10 years of experience in swim coaching and non-profit fundraising, notably for the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Milwaukee, WI. Adam currently works as a Freelance Creative Director, contributing to brands such as Powerade, Sprite, FedEx, Bentley, and Hershey’s. His background in competitive swimming and non-profit work aligns with SwemSchool’s dedication to water safety and community impact.
Michele Klumb is an innovative leader and five-time U.S. patent holder with an extensive background in strategic business development, marketing, and operations. She currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Audazzio, where she oversees operations, finance, marketing, and overall growth. Michele holds both a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Texas A&M University. A dedicated community leader, she is a founding member of the Jourdanton Education Foundation, where she serves as Vice President of Marketing, and is also the Treasurer of the Atascosa County A&M Club. Michele believes that goals should be dynamic and evolving, with each day offering new insights that contribute to the overall picture of success.
Derrick Turner serves as Assistant City Manager for the City of Tucker, where he helps lead day-to-day municipal operations and advance the City’s strategic priorities. He brings a strong foundation in local government, with professional experience spanning financial management, capital project delivery, and organizational leadership. Derrick holds a Master’s in Business Administration, which has equipped him with the technical expertise and strategic perspective needed to support effective, transparent governance. Passionate about public service, Derrick is dedicated to fostering community engagement, enhancing infrastructure and connectivity, and creating opportunities for sustainable economic growth that benefit residents and businesses alike. Sharae Harris is a legal and business leader with more than twenty years of experience advising organizations across the private and public sectors. She currently serves as Director, Legal – Franchise at Chick-fil-A, Inc., where she provides strategic legal counsel and partners cross-functionally to support the business. Prior to joining Chick-fil-A in 2020, Sharae served as Assistant General Counsel at Cotiviti, Inc., and held various roles at The Coca-Cola Company, supporting a wide range of business functions. Her background also includes government service handling sensitive legal matters and private practice at national law firms. She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Georgia State University. She is deeply committed to service and is honored to serve as a Board Member of SwemKids.
Ava Marie Miller is a Virginia native and student at Georgia State University, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Management. She is an American Red Cross certified swimming instructor and lifeguard. She has been an advocate for water safety for eight years and seeks creative ways to introduce her community to the freedom of swimming. As a dedicated and driven individual, she will bring fresh perspectives and a strong commitment to helping others grow in and out of the water. She is excited to contribute my energy, creativity, and enthusiasm to the SwemSchool community.
